Team first4vans finished the Brands Hatch 30 car race weekend on a high with British Touring car driver Rob Austin behind the wheel of the no. 11 race van.img_2216

A Good Start To The Weekend

Rob started the weekend with a shakedown test on the Friday. He found good pace in the wet conditions and felt happy with the balance of the race van.

Saturday found team and drivers face winter conditions and the wet tyres were on both race vans. Rob having to start at the back of the grid had his best finish, of 4th.

Nathan in the #29 machine collected damage whilst running in the top 10. Repairs were needed overnight to get both race – vans out for Sunday.

The End of the Season

Both drivers found better race pace with Rob passing Nathan in the final to claim 2nd place. Nathan led the final after a great start, but on dry tyres,  the weather was not on his side and slipped back to a season end 7th.

Rob Austin may well take the opportunity to race within our team in 2017 if his BTCC commitments do not clash.
