[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]We get a lot of first-time van hires and in order to feel comfortable with the agreement, our customers ask many questions. Thing is, there are a lot of vehicle rental myths out there and misleading information can lead to widespread misconception. We wanted to clear the air on some of these common vehicle rental myths we encounter by providing you with the answers below:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Vehicle Rental Myths” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

1. You’re Always Charged for All Forms of Damage

Probably the most common of all the vehicle rental myths we hear.

We all have that one friend who knows somebody, who knows somebody else (repeat as necessary) that claims to have been charged thousands of pounds for a small scratch caused by road dust or a stone.

Reasonable wear-and-tear is understandable. At First 4 Vans, we hold that understanding. However, if the wing mirror is missing, you can probably expect to be charged!

2. Driving Offences Don’t Come Back To You

Customers always try to be subtle when asking this question. The vehicle rental myths is that speeding and parking tickets are directed to the owner of the vehicle, meaning we would receive and pay for your fines. This isn’t true at all: It is the driver who is ultimately responsible.

While tickets or notices may be sent to the rental company first, they will eventually be passed onto you. The law is the law.

3. Van Hire is Only Available for Businesses

We have no idea where this vehicle rental myths came from, but some believe only businesses can hire vans. This is absolutely untrue for us and people can hire vans for personal use. That can be for getting around, moving some furniture or taking your band on tour.

Businesses can also hire vans, it isn’t limited to just one-or-the-other. Our company is built upon the idea of helping people, so we want to make van hire possible for both uses.

4. There’s Always a Restriction on The Mileage

We admit that a small number of rental companies do have a restriction on the mileage, but it is often clearly stated in the agreement and there is sometimes an option for unlimited mileage available.

All of our vans have no mileage restrictions, so you are free to roam and explore our pleasant countryside in the van you’ve hired from us without worrying about vehicle rental myths.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Any Further Questions?” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]That’s it for the vehicle rental myths we regularly come across with customers. There is no such thing as a bad question, but there is such thing as bad information. Hopefully, this has helped you in your search for van hire and cleared up any confusion you may have previously had.
